Direct bookings

A TheFork alternative for the bookings that come to you anyway

TheFork is a portal: it brings new guests and charges a commission on the covers it books. That can work, but many of your guests already know you and would book anyway. For them there is no reason to pay a commission: your own booking system is enough.

Two different jobs

A portal helps people who don’t know you find you. Restaurant software helps you earn more from the people who already do. FortyCovers doesn’t ask you to leave TheFork: it gives you your own commission-free booking page for every guest who comes from your website, Instagram, Google or word of mouth.

What changes

  • A flat monthly fee instead of a per-cover commission
  • The booking page carries your name and your address
  • Guest contacts stay yours
  • Confirmation emails in English, Italian and French
  • Closures and holidays handled in the calendar
  • Plus floor plan, food cost, P&L, rotas and stock

Keep both

Plenty of restaurants use a portal to be discovered and FortyCovers for everything else. Bookings from the portal or the phone can be added to the dashboard, so your floor and your numbers stay complete.

Pricing

The Sala plan with bookings, website and floor plan is €59 a month; the Locale plan with the full software is €99 a month. Prices exclude VAT, no commission, no contract.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to leave TheFork?

No. Keep the portal for new guests and use FortyCovers for direct bookings.

Does FortyCovers bring new guests like a portal?

No, it isn’t a portal and doesn’t claim to be. It stops you paying commission on guests who come to you and helps you earn more on every cover.
